Our Vision: Build united, developed, and peaceful communities in Africa.
Our Mission: Educating conflict-affected children and youth to lead and rebuild communities.
CIYOTA is community-driven non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and marginalised youth in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We believe that education, leadership, and entrepreneurship are the keys to transforming conflict-affected communities into thriving, self-reliant societies.
For two decades, CIYOTA has provided access to quality education, leadership training, and economic opportunities to those most affected by displacement and instability. Our programs equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to rebuild their lives, create innovative solutions, and drive long-term change in their communities.
We work through a community-driven model, where youth leaders identify local challenges and co-create solutions with CIYOTA's support. By fostering self-reliance and innovation, we help build sustainable, peaceful, and resilient communities across Africa.
We commit to honesty, transparency, reliability, and building trust.
Remain courageous in the fight against illiteracy, poverty and tribalism in our communities.
We understand and appreciate that everyone is unique: race, nationality, ethnicity, religion and socio-economic status.
We commit to fulfilling promises made to each other and our communities.
We are deeply aware of the suffering of others and have a strong desire to alleviate it.
We constantly strive for success and to be the best in all that we do.
