CIYOTA provides holistic learning opportunities across all
educational levels, from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to university
preparation. In Uganda, we serve students from five nationalities which are Congolese,
Burundian, Ugandan, Rwandese, and Sudanese. Many of them come from refugee
settlements such as Kyangwali, Rwamwanja, Nakivale, and Kyaka II.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), CIYOTA partners with existing
primary and secondary schools to enrol internally displaced and host community
students in Eastern DRC.
Our approach ensures that young people access quality education at every stage,
equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive. Through primary and
secondary education, we build strong academic foundations, while our University
Access program provides students with the tools to excel in higher education and
beyond.
To enhance teaching effectiveness, our Teacher Training Program (TTP) is a teacher-focused, data-driven
professional development initiative that strengthens the Instructional Core—improving teacher skills,
ensuring content rigour, and increasing student engagement to maximise learning outcomes. Additionally,
we implement The Teach at the Right Level (TaRL), an approach to reinforce foundational literacy and
numeracy, offers an Accelerated Education Program (AEP) for learners who have missed years of schooling,
and integrates leadership and entrepreneurship training to equip students with essential life and career
skills.
