Consolatrice Mahoro is the Manager for Gender and Safeguarding at CIYOTA and also serves as the Project Lead for "Breaking Barriers," a collaboration between Street Child and CIYOTA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities with a focus on Psychology from United States International University (USIU-Africa) in Nairobi, Kenya. Recognized with a CIYOTA high school scholarship and a Mastercard Foundation scholarship for her undergraduate studies, Consolatrice has extensive experience in youth empowerment, gender equality, and safeguarding in humanitarian contexts. She has contributed to various organisations, including overseeing the Think Africa Program at CIYOTA and serving as a Program Assistant at Synergie des Femmes pour les Victimes des Violences Sexuelles (SFVS) and as Country Representative for Transformational Leadership in Africa (TLA).


Fluent in multiple languages, including French, English, Swahili, Kinyabwisha, Kirundi, and some Lingala and Ugandan local languages, Consolatrice is skilled in leadership, problem-solving, community engagement, and mentorship. She has been a key driver in the success of youth-focused and gender-related initiatives and is committed to creating safer, more inclusive environments for women and youth, particularly in refugee and disadvantaged communities. In her personal life, Consolatrice enjoys music, traveling, and community service, with a particular focus on empowering women, girls, and youth.
