Johnson Owonda Komagum is a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Manager at CIYOTA. He plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning, overseeing data collection and analysis, communicating findings, managing evaluations and developing MEAL processes. With over a decade of experience in the field, Johnson brings extensive expertise in MEAL, Research Management for social and development projects. His skills include designing MEAL systems, conducting training and excelling in data analysis, modeling and management.


Johnson holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Economics. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Statistics from Makerere University. In addition, he has completed specialized training in Project Planning & Management, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Gender Monitoring & Evaluation, Youth Programming, Governance & Health.


Johnson was trained as a Trainer of Trainees (Impact Evaluation) by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation and completed a Peer Education course in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights at Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU). Before joining CIYOTA, Johnson worked with organizations such as Cycle Connect, Educate!, Restless Development and USAID under the SUSTAIN Project, among others. He is passionate about data storytelling and dedicated to contributing to positive change for marginalized and vulnerable communities.
