Philemon, the MEAL Manager at CIYOTA – DRC, is a dedicated humanitarian professional committed to upholding humanitarian principles in support of communities affected by crises, conflicts, and wars. With a BAC+5 degree in Regional and National Planning from Goma ISDR-GL (Institut Supérieur de Développement Rural des Grands Lacs), he actively works to provide quality and inclusive assistance to conflict-affected children and youth. His role involves establishing accountability mechanisms for affected communities, ensuring that aid does not become a source of conflict. Additionally, he develops complaint management systems and oversees capitalization workshops, evaluating projects based on key criteria such as relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, sustainability, and coherence.


With over five years of experience in humanitarian interventions in eastern DRC, Philemon has served as both a team leader and project manager for various organisations. He has undergone extensive training and earned certifications as a MEAL Manager, contributing significantly to the success of the organisations he has worked with. Since 2023, he has been instrumental in CIYOTA-DRC’s efforts in Goma, focusing on rebuilding and strengthening communities that have endured decades of violence. Philemon strongly believes that results-based management is key to achieving impactful humanitarian projects and improving the socio-economic conditions of the people they support.
